Everybody and their grandma has been drooling over the Ipod shuffle ever since it first came out. Smaller than a stick of gum, this little musical machine has become the darling of the "hip" crowd, beloved by the tech geek and cool person alike. It takes pride in its being a random music player, free from the rules and regulations of "regular" machines.
That's what I take issue with. I don't want to guess what the next song is. I want to know what comes next, so that I have the choice to listen to it or not on my own terms, not when it's already blasting in my ear. What I think is that somebody in the design team forgot a music selector in the schematics and the marketing team decided to show it as a "cool" feature.
Remember, if we don't have order, what we have is chaos. The Ipod Shuffle is chaos. Beware.

This is one door I'm definitely going to get for my cat Syd. The Electro-Magnetic Cat Door is built with only your feline friend in mind. The door only unlocks when it senses the tiny electromagnetic key that you place on your cat's collar, thereby keeping unwanted guests out, but letting your pet in!
You can set it up so it can become a one- or two- way affair, and can be installed in any hollow or solid doors up to 2 1/4 inches thick.
Installing the Eletro-Magnetic Cat Door is a blessing to cat owners. Don't believe me? Then you've never had your cat wail and moan out the window just to let him in, then. I envy you.

If you're a caffeine fiend like me, then you're sure to just love this one. The Krups Duo-Thek Coffeemaker allows you to brew and serve not one but two pots of coffee at the same time. Each pot can serve up to 10 cups of your favorite gourmet blend of coffee, or one can brew regular coffee, the other can brew decaf! A truly versatile brewer.
This coffeemaker is an excellent choice for those late-night talks, marathon group meetings or for everyday coffee use. Its double-walled, brushed and insulated stainless steel carafes help keep your cup of java fresh, hot and ready to drink for hours.

As I've said before, I just love retro phones. These lovely novelties add a touch of whimsy to the business of answering a phone call.
That's why I love this phone. It comes in the shape of a Harley-Davidson Motorcycle and even sounds like one when it rings! You use the motorcycle seat to answer incoming calls, and the keypad is located just beneath.
The Harley-Davidson Phone makes for a great conversation piece, and is functional, too! This replica is an exact model of the famous "Fat Boy" style of motorcycle. It's a must for the motorcycle enthusiast and the discerning collector as well.

If you've ever been a passenger on a long road trip, I'm sure it wouldn't take you long to get bored out of your skull. After all, there are only so many times you can sing "99 bottles of beer" before your friend shouts "shut up!" and kicks you out on the highway.
We all don't want that do we?
Now if you brought along something like the LCD Portable DVD Player, things would have gone a wee bit smoother. This super thin (one inch!) tablet player comes with A/V jacks, an 8.4" hi-res LCD screen and can play almost any CD media format!
This baby makes any kind of travel a more entertaining ride.

Do you find yourself turning up the TV more and more each day? Or maybe you keep asking your co-worker to repeat what she just said? Or do your housemates complain about the racket from your normally (to your point of view) playing boom box?
Then, maybe it's time to get the Motokata Bionic Ear. This hearing amplifier device (not a hearing aid. That'd just be inviting lawsuits) weighs very little, but works a lot in helping you hear better.
You can hear up to 50 decibels better with this equipped. It's smaller than a lighter and it even comes with volume control!
Plus, it comes in a way cool silver-black motif that doesn't look anything like normal, geeky hearing aids.

This is perhaps the only time I'd spend cash for a pair of binoculars. I'm not too particularly fond of them, as I find them too big and bulky for any trip. But on some very rare occasions that I get to go bird watching, this gadget might just do the trick.
The 3.0 Photo Binocular is an impressive package, bundling a 3 megapixel digital camera and a long-range binocular together in one unit. It's even got a 20-second recording capability as well. You can then upload your shots to any PC for you to enjoy.
I'm going to have fun with my neigh...I mean, the next time I go bird watching. Yeah, that's it.

Pests are a problem for everyone. Well, except maybe for frogs, but then again they eat bugs!
For most people, finding a bug in their home is an act of war upon them by the insect race. To help them in their war efforts, the Magneto-Sonic uses inaudible (to the human ear) ultra-sonic waves and electromagnetic pulses to drive away pests such as ticks, spiders, rodents, ants and the like. This gadget can cover around 5000 square feet of space and plugs into any electrical AC outlet.
The best thing about this baby is that you don't have to use chemicals, bait or traps that aren't really all that effective against these critters. Just plug it in and watch those pests get out and stay out!

During the past few years, I've managed to accumulate a lot of gadgets during my college and early working years, a habit I still do today. Now as I look around my home, I can barely recognize my own living space.
I've decided to clean up my clutter and get my stuff organized. But I still realize that I really need to get rid of my excess gadgets. And there lies the problem. I can't decide what to keep and what to give/sell/throw away!
I guess I’ll have to triage it. Triage is a medical term referring to the treatment procedures of medical personnel during emergencies. It follows the rule that the most attention goes to the most severe condition. In my case, I'll start by keeping only what I really need, and work my way up from there.

With the astounding Automatic 7-cup Kettle you can! This safe and easy to use kettle brings water to a boil in 90 seconds! And you don't even have to transfer the water from the stove to the table. Just plug the kettle in, wait for it to boil, then voila! Hot water for you and your guests!

Don't you just hate it when you park, and just when you think you've got it, you hear a sickening bump that makes the pit of your stomach fall out? You've backed up into the water heater. Again. For the nth time! Don't you just wish there were some way to prevent this?
Don't worry, bud, there is. The Park N Place parking stoplight features a bright LED that alerts you when your car's bumper touches its 51" fiberglass stand, alerting you to your position. It comes with an auto off so that you won't have to worry about replacing the batteries anytime soon.
With the Park N Place in place, you need not worry about any more dings or scratches on your car's chassis. Now, ain't that great?

I may be a cat person, but I also appreciate the innovations that dog lovers get for their beloved canine companions. Take this nifty piece of equipment right here, the Motion Sensor Dog Fountain.
It's a water fountain for dogs so that dog owners don't have to change the water in their pet's dish every so often. This gadget ensures that the pet gets nothing but fresh tap water and not the stagnant water of a dish. A motion sensor activates whenever your dog approaches, and this opens the water fountain, which connects to any outdoor closet. The water flow stops when the dog walks away. An easily adjustable height setting and battery power (4 "c" batteries) add to this fountain's convenience.
If you find yourself constantly refilling and changing your dog's water, why not consider getting this device? Your dog and your back will be grateful for it.

Some ideas are difficult to express in writing, let alone in typing. There are some concepts you just have to draw out in pen and paper, but that can pose a problem if you're working with someone online.
Aside from having a web cam to show a sketch (which can be unreliable and fuzzy) and having a scanner (too bulky and tedious), there are no other options for this type of data exchange.
Until now. The ACECAD DigiMemo 692 is a notepad you can write, sketch and doodle on and the content can be saved and uploaded to your computer for a later revising. The included USB cable makes it possible to edit and organize your thoughts as you connect and upload your data via Windows.
This is an excellent gadget for those who get their best thoughts and inspirations while not in front of the computer monitor.

Ever had nights when the neighborhood dogs just won't shut up? Well I have, and it drives me and my cat Sydney up the wall! Many a shoe has been sacrificed just for the sake of our peace of mind.
That's why we need one of these babies. The Bark Free dog control emits ultrasonic tones that only dogs can hear and discourage them from barking within 25 feet of the device. It's a weatherproof and automatic device so you can just leave it plugged on and get a good night's rest. It's a far more humane way of controlling the dogs than any other plan Syd and I came up with.
And just think of the money I'll save on shoes.

Ever wanted a digital camera/video recorder, but were scared off by the price?
Then be scared no more! With the Wondercam 5-in-1 digital camcorder, you can take pictures and make home movies with the best of them! Its small size makes it an excellent pocketable gadget for those long trips or unexpected excursions.
Now, onto the features. They didn't call it a 5-in-1 for nothing you know. Along with its excellent video camera capabilities, the Wondercam also can function as a web cam, MP3 player, a digital voice recorder and a digital still camera with a 4 megapixel resolution!
Loaded with features, and at a fraction of the size and price of most digital cameras, the Wondercam 5-in-1 is a bargain!

Now here's a gadget techies will love and lawyers will hate. The 12 Hour Voice Recorder, like what its name says, can record up to 12 hours' worth of voice notes, conversations and interviews. Its ergonomic design makes it a handy (pun intended) tool for you budding reporters and interviewers out there. It even comes with an FM tuner and earphones, for entertainment in between those recording sessions. Included with the package are audio cables, a strap, phone jack, USB cable, audio cables and software.
Please be reminded that recording conversations may be illegal in some states. Well, that's what it says on the package, anyway.

Ever wonder just what goes on in your home when you're away? Well, i do, and I just wish I had one of these during my school days, so that I'd know who was liberating a few dollars from my wallet in my dorm every time I was off to gym class.
What am I talking about? Well, it's one of these babies: The Secret Camcorder - Clock. This ingenious device looks like a normal digital clock with its fully-functional LCD display, but on the inside, it hides a miniature digital camera that is motion-activated. Just place it in the vicinity of any suspicious activity and presto! You've busted whomever you want to bust. Up to 12 minutes of video can be recorded and viewed through your PC or Mac.
Just be careful they don't get one before you do. Hey, Syd, nice clock you got there...

This is a phone that will surely bring a smile to the face of those who love classical design, or those who simply love history.
The 1892 Eiffel Tower Phone comes with the standard features of any modern phone like pulse and tone dialing, an on/off ringer and last number redials. Don't be fooled by its appearance! The retro (very retro) design will surely add a touch of class to any home it's put into.
This replica was painstakingly copied from the original, and the results are incredible! For those of us who love novelty phones, this one is sure to earn a spot in your collection.

Are your old LPs just collecting dust in your basement? Do you wish you could hear them again, letting the nostalgic rush kick in and whisk you away to another time, another place?
Well, with this interesting piece of recording equipment you can. It's the LP-to-CD Recorder Stereo System, and with it, your old vinyl LP can be recorded to the newer CDs, ensuring that you preserve those classic tunes for the years to come! You can play 33s, 45s, and 78s, and you can even choose which songs to record and keep. If you have a collection of old LPs in a box somewhere, or are just a music lover like me, then get this gadget now!
This is an excellent way of keeping your LPs from turning into fragile frisbees.

If you're ever going to be stuck out in the big, bad world all alone, this is the one gadget you gotta have. This baby can pick up radio signals, act as a light and can even charge up your cell phone! All without electricity or even batteries.
The power to this baby is provided by nothing more than good old elbow grease. You just crank this up for 90 seconds, and it can give you up to an hour of radio, or give you enough electricity to charge up your phone or the emergency lights. This tool can charge cellphones from five different manufacturers.
Every home should have one of these, just in case a natural disaster strikes.

Having trouble reading that fancy book? Would you finally like to finish that novel, even if you don't understand half the words the characters are saying? Or would you just like to be able to read a book while your housemates are sleeping?
Then the solution to your dilemmas is here! The Electronic Dictionary-Book Light will light (pun intended) your way to a better reading experience. Its slim construction and multiple features make it a must for the avid reader. This amazing gadget stores the contents of an entire Merriam-Webster Dictionary, but is thin enough not to hamper your reading! It comes with a powerful book light to keep you company on those dark nights when your housemates would rather sleep than join you in your literary adventures. As a bonus, it also has a built-in ribbon bookmark to keep your place when you do decide to call it a night.
With this baby, I can now finish that darn Dan Brown novel. If my cat Sydney hasn't already.
